On Monday, July 27, the state provided an age breakdown of COVID-19 cases in the state using a total count of 1,663. The bulk of the cases were in those under 60, and the highest percentage of those hospitalized is those 60 and older.

Right now the case count for the state is 1,865.   For detail, click here. The  State reported 109 cases on Wednesday and 47 cases on Tuesday and 28 cases on Monday.  Dr. Bruce Anderson of State Department of Health said at a press conference on Wednesday that more high case counts won’t be a surprise as the State Lab was shut down Sunday and Monday over concerns about Hurricane Douglas, and the lab is just now catching up.  He also said the Wednesday count included 23 juveniles.  He also said there is wide community spread, especially on O’ahu.

The death toll includes 4 people between 40 and 59, and 22 people 60 or older.

Ages Number Number hospitalized % hospitalized
0-19 171 1 0.6%
20-39 617 13 2.1%
40-59 547 42 7.7%
60+ 328 88 26.8%
1,663 144

The State’s original chart may be found by clicking here.  The State updates the age statistics every Monday.
